Running Accomplishments:

My Sophmore year I ran at state, as a girls team we made it. Unfortunately last year we were beat out, but it was a learning experience. The Guys made it this last year and we were there to support them.

Senior year went to state XC both the girls and the guys. guys tied for 3rd but lost the tiebreaker so 4th in the state. way to go guys. The girls did fairly well too.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I hope to get my 800 time down and race well this track season.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Half marathon finish. 13.1 miles. Challenge myself and make it through.

Personal:

I'm am a senior this year at pine view high school. I've run track since my freshman year but been a distance runner in xc since my sophmore. I love the feeling you get right after a race when you know you've pushed it hard and you did it.  I am going to run the wasatch back this summer and its going to be AWESOME!!!!

My I.T. band is still tight more ice and stretching today. I'll just keep on icing and stretching until its in less pain and its not as tight.

I ran 3 miles on the parkway with junior today. My I.T. band still hurt a bit but i think it's starting to get better. :) tomorrow is the 4th of July so we don't have practice as a team but i'm gonna go out tomorrow morning though, or it may have to be evening depending on the events of the 4th I decide to participate in.

Warm-up (.2) I ran with Jr. again today. We went on the three miler that's to the chevron station and back. We pushed it today and ran up fire station hill hard as we normally do when we're doing hills. We also treated the last couple hundred meters like a race and kicked in until we got up to the elementary school, that felt good. My hip still hurt what with a tight I.T. band and Standing for long periods of time combined. I've been Icing it though and its starting to feel better. I'll just keep pushing through the pain for now and ice, stretch and try to take some ibprofen. That's the step I always seem to forget about and one that i'm sure does wonders.

Warm-up(.2). I ran a three miler with maddie today. I helped her to push it and keep it going. Together we ran up the hill by first stop and I think if we continue to push each other we can both improve. After we ran I did a quick stretch and had to hurry home as I have to work at 9.

Warm-up (.2) I ran with Jr. today along with sadie and maddie but they turned around a little early. It was alright but I got a sideache from speeding up and slowing down so many times. Its all good though it'll just get better tomorrow.

I'm not quite sure how far I went today. Near the beginning of the run I started to feel really sick so I wound up turning around. I just hope it doesn't work out that way tomorrow. Since  I didn't really get a good run in and I don't know how far I went i'm gonna run tonight to get a better run in.

I ran with danny today. His leg was giving him grief so we took it nice and easy. I'm still not sure how far we ran but we'll just call it 2.5 miles. It was an alright run but it was really hot today so it kinda took some energy out of me once I finished the run. I think tomorrow i'm going to try and get out running by 6:30 when its a little cooler, but if not i'll definitely go at 7. Its a 5 miler for me tomorrow so I think i'm going to try to do the mall run with the extention. I hope it works out.

Today I started off with a short warm-up around my neighborhood and stretches. I did 20 push-ups and 100 crunches along with agilities then headed out. I ran the Mall run with the extention. It felt pretty good outside this morning other than a bit of humidity because of the rain last night. It was a really good run today it was nice going my own speed and the run seemed to go by faster today. I had to stop once near the end to tie one of my shoes but other than that I kept a fairly consistent pace and didn't stop my legs moving at all. It felt nice just to be out there this morning and it was nice to go on a run I'm really familiar with since we run it during the school year. Now I can relax and enjoy my weekend and work.

I ran the warm-up and streched with the team and then headed out into the desert. I went 3 miles but it was a really slow run. I didn't sleep last night and was really fatigued but I got out and ran and that's what matters. I felt a bit better after the run as well which is good.

Today I ran dog pound with jr. it was a slower run but it felt good. It was a good morning run and now i'm excited to run tonight. Hooray for fun runs.

 I ran the chelsi's run 5k. I didn't intend to go as fast as I did but the run felt good. I'm not sure on an exact time either but it was fairly decent when I actually looked at the clock later it was 28 something. I'm excited for some more 5k's and an awesome season.

I headed out the direction of grapevine today running with jr. We went 3 miles which felt really good. I felt really slow though because I was a little sore from running 4 miles in the morning and a 5k at night. It was a good run though and it felt good to keep running.

After the warm-up today we headed out to do the pond loop. We all went three today for a little bit of a break from the milage increase. After we finished at the pond we went to Nisson's park and played ultimate frisbee. It was a good game and a nice little break. After we finished our game we finished up our run by heading back to the elementary. Tomorrow we're meeting at green springs park and i'm excited for a different run.

We met out at green springs this morning. There were only about 9 of us but at least we came. After warm-ups and stretches we ran up a hill a bit of a ways and then came back down for a 3.5 miler. It was a really good run. The warm-up was longer than our usual so i'm calling it a .3 mile warm-up.

Today I ran 4 miles with Cassidy. It felt really good and she pushed me the first half of the run after which she was getting pretty dead as she hasn't run that far and told me to run ahead. So I did and I ran up the hill and continued on without stopping which made me pretty happy. After I finished I got a quick drink and ran back down the street a little ways to run the last bit with Cassidy. It was a good run and I hope all the rest of my runs this week are this good.

Today's run wasn't very good. I wanted to run 4 miles but I felt sick this morning and so I couldn't. Then to make things worse as I was headed up the hill my legs felt like a ton of bricks. Hopefully I get in a better run tomorrow. I am also going to try and break a vicious cycle and fix my internal clock so I can actually sleep at night and get some decent runs in before school starts. I'm not sure yet but if i get the chance tonight i'm going to try and run around 2-3 miles to make up for what I couldn't do this morning.

4- headed out the direction of parkway but instead of going on parkway we ran down a white packed granite path to a park and back for a 4 miler. To make it 5 miles we ran 6 barefoot striders on the grass at the park before we headed back. It felt pretty good today I just hope to keep it that way and break my vicious sleeping cycle for good. On the way back I felt really slow but hopefully I can fix that soon enough too.

Today we went out and met at the two churches in washington fields. We went on a 4 mile run that included a  large portion in some hills with lots of ups and downs. It was kinda like a rollercoaster. It wasn't a bad run, it was pretty fun but some of the up hills were pretty tough and some of the downhills were really steep. Overall it was a good run.

Today I ran to the coral canyon entrance and back it was a tough run but well worth it. On the front side of the hill I could really feel the burn in my calves but once I started going down the other side the searing pain left and it was all good. It was a slow run but it was a good long run and it definitely makes some of the other hills i've run seem like a cinch to get up. It was a good workout for working 2 different sets of muscles as hills work different muscles. Later today I'm going too run 2 miles before work. I'll update after that.

Early Pm- around 2:50 I headed out for my second run of the day, the one in the heat. I headed out to the park with the rock wall and around the little paved trail. I stopped at the fountain to get a drink and then headed back, running through my neighborhood a bit so it'd be a 2 miler. The first part of the run felt really good and then on the way back not as good but still not horrible, but when I got home the heat hit me and i got a drink quickly and got drenched in cold water. Now I feel a bit better and the worst of it should be over now hopefully tomorrow's run will be better.

Today we went out to the park on the parkway and did six barefoot striders to get another mile in and then headed back. The run itself was pretty good but for the first half of the run I could really feel the extra miles from yesterday and the hill. On the way back it wasn't quite as bad though just a nice run.

Pm- I ran the 2 miler bank and back but since its a little further from my house than the school I cut off a little early. It was a bit better than yesterday and It can only get better.

Today after our warm-ups we headed out for the middleton run. Jr. showed up today and I ended up running a 5 miler with him. Really slow, stiff miles today. I can feel the extra miles that i've been adding on in the afternoon. Hopefully by the end of this week I'll be a little less stiff and sore. Next week we meet at the high school at 8 so that's a plus and along with that next week's miles shouldn't be as bad because I'll have made it through this week. I have a class for work until 3 but after that I'll run my miles for the afternoon. Today I bump it up to 3 miles in the heat but it should be alright.

Pm- 3 miler from my house, an elongated bank run. It was pretty hot outside but I ran with water so it wasn't that bad. Other than being sore on my right side it was a decent run, lets hope the afternoon and early evening stay that way and then improve as far as runs are concerned.

Ran 5 mile green springs run. Really slow,tired miles but I ran them and I got the miles in. Hopefully I can speed things up next week and I'll have more sleep by then. I stayed awake all yesterday but still didn't sleep well at night so tonight I'm diverting to sleeping pills,I hope they work because if they don't work nothing will.

Pm- 3 miles, the same way as yesterday. It was still pretty hot outside but i made it through. shorter morning run scheduled tomorrow. 4 miles instead of 5 it should be a nice little rest before an 8 miler saturday.
